Miles Halter is tired of his boring and lonely life at home in Florida, so he decides to go a boarding school in Alabama, hoping that a new beginning might give him a new impetus. At the boarding school he makes friends with a group of youngsters - including the beautiful and intelligent yet unhappy Alaska Young - who open a whole new world for him.
Looking for Alaska is a novel about adolescents in their final years at school who are discovering friendship, love and desire, and learning how trust, responsibility, grief and loss are an integral part of human experience.

Friends

Miles:
First Miles doesn't had many friends, but now he is very happy to have some. Friendship is very important for him, furthermore honesty and loyalty. He cares about his friends and would stand up for them if they were in trouble.

The Colonel:
Honesty and loyalty are the most impotant qualties for him. He cares about Miles and wants the best for his friends. He gets very angry if one of them gets hurt.

Alaska:
For Alaska friends are pretty important because she needs the contact with other humans she likes. People can trust her, but for her it's also necessary that she can trust on her friends.
